Artist Bio

​

Fae Yamaguchi is a painter and a video artist. Her surreal paintings have exhibited locally and can be found in many private collections. In the years before painting, Yamaguchi created videos in the form of live-action puppetry which have screened in film festivals, theaters and museums nationally and internationally. Yamaguchi has also been teaching art to children for over 25 years in Hawaii. She currently teaches through various organizations including the Hawaii State Art Museum and the Downtown Art Center. 

 

Artist Statement

I am a night person. I can easily slip into other realities at night.  The black erases the boundaries and there’s just so much to see. My paintings are a frozen moment in a continuing story.
